Rapid 1K

Rapid 1K is an aliphatic 1-component waterborne formulation delivering good chemical and water resistance while providing good abrasion resistance and fast-setting properties. It is designed to be used as a primer or topcoat sealer. This material is 42% solids and can be used on porous and non-porous substrates. This material is available in flexible, semi-flexible or rigid film.

Rapid 1K is an air-dry system where it is normally roll applied. This low viscosity dispersion dries clear and flexible in 10-15 minutes acquiring full-cure in 24 hrs or maybe forced dried at elevated temperatures. Rapid 1K-Topcoat is available in medium to high elongation formulations where flexibility is demanded. The high-flex version provides up to 600% elongation with a tensile strength of 2400 psi while the the medium-flex allows for 100%. Pigments and thickener additives may also be included to enhance its use.

Technical Application Data

Rapid 1K is specially designed to normally fast dry at 60-90° F with ambient temperatures with 50-60% relative humidity yielding drying times of 10-15 min. Operational temperatures range from 20°F to 150°F. Recommended application is 1-2 medium wet coats at 5-8 mils per coat wet thickness with coverage of 100 sq.ft./ gal. When using airless sprayer, use 0.011″ tip @2000 psi. Second coat should be applied when first coat achieves a dry tacky touch, i.e. no wet to the touch.
